Kristina Murrin CBE

Kristian Murrin is a global leader in the fields of Innovation and social change. She has worked across the public, private and voluntary sectors to address problems as wide ranging as education reform, maternal mortality and economic growth. Having studied psychology at Cambridge she became fascinated by what allowed people to be creative and create change.
She started her career in the corporate world with P&G then went on to help build the world’s largest independent innovation consultancy – What If. It remains the only UK business to win the Financial Times Best Place to Work award two years running. After 15 years growing the business she transferred her problem solving skills to the public realm.
She worked as an associate in the UK Prime Ministers Delivery Unit (2003-2006) under Tony Blair and was Director for policy and Implementation at No10 under Prime Minister David Cameron (2010- 2013). She has been a Senior Fellow at the Institute for Government in London and is currently a Fellow at the Blavatnik School of Government at Oxford. Here she chaired the Global Challenges of Government Programme working with senior politicians from Malaysia, China and the USA.
Kris is well known in the media having authored several best-selling books and presented multiple TV series on both the BBC and Channel 4.
In January 2017 Kris was asked by the Vice Chief of the Defence Staff to undertake a review of Innovation across the Ministry of Defence (the “Murrin Review”). Engagement on the Review took place between February and May 2017, she is currently advising the Department on Innovation activities, as the Defence Innovation Champion.
